The little boy thrown off the Tate
I’m struggling to get my head around this. It just sounds like a hideous horror movie.

There is some crazy shit going on in the world right now.

I’m praying to everyone’s god that this little boy makes a recovery.

Re: The little boy thrown off the Tate
The person that did this, there is no use for them in this life. Who wants to live with them, hire them, be near them. He should be given an injection and cremated.

There should be a vote on a death penalty and if we want it back.

When its an open and shut case then it can be put in use and being mental is no excuse either.

Otherwise fuck paying taxes!

Nurse is more of the ‘Dogs playing pool’ school of art I believe.
Bit of a connoisseur

Blimey nurse we all know it isn't proper art unless the eyes follow you around the room.

For christ sake those Rothkos don't even have eyes.

I don't know what the world's coming to......

The biggest mistake was closing down the psychiatric hospitals in the late 80’s and putting them in the community.
At least they had somewhere safe to live with the appropriate care.

Re: The little boy thrown off the Tate
People who worry too much about others having their collars up can't live in the community. We need to build more asylums for these people. If we don't it'll be Bedlam...

Re: The little boy thrown off the Tate
The original care in the community idea was a reaction against absurdities like high-functioning Downs people, or people who worried too much about others having their collars up, being incarcerated in institutions, when they were perfectly capable of living at least semi-independently in the community.

It wasn't a particularly cheap option.

Re: The little boy thrown off the Tate
Lots of people take kids there.
Even kids in pushchairs which is utterly pointless.
Ironically Tate Britain is much improved over the last few years but a lot less people go there as it’s a bit out of the way and not as trendy.
I LIKE Tate Modern (and am a member)!but reckon the extension that has the death platform in is a bit shit apart from the tanks on the ground floor.
The viewing platform is a bit pointless as it looks at expensive flats and SOUTH London which is a pointless eyesore.
Surprised people don’t throw themselves off before being launched by some beardy nutcase.

I have so far resisted making sour remarks about modern 'art', but you're right. Place would make me feel murderous.

Weird place to take such a young child for an outing, too. Adults can fool themselves into thinking it's high culture, but what would little children make of that nonsense?

This is one of those strange and distressing news stories that stay with you a long time. That poor family. All that will happen is tje pusher will be put in a secure hospital until they think he'll take his medication. Then presumably they'll let him out again. Hard to know what to think about that.

Re: The little boy thrown off the Tate
Why on earth would anyone with schizo tendencies be taken to Tate Modern?

That place is bad enough when you only have one mind

Care in the community?
That was one of Thatchers wasn’t it.
Ironic seeing there is ‘no such thing as society’

Someone, somewhere thinks that the suffering that this little lad and his parents are going through is a price (well) worth paying for Care in the Community.

Re: The little boy thrown off the Tate
DoD I think the dirty little scrott should also be thrown off the same building, just to see what its like!! All these bloody do gooders, social services, they are the scum of the earth, responsible for breaking up lots of family's, and generally poking there noses in where not not wanted.

Re: The little boy thrown off the Tate
‘Staggeringly intelligent’ apparently but says blame social services!

Must be one of society’s ‘most vulnerable ‘

Absolute shocker, heads should roll!

Did I read that the 17yo was a schizophrenic and ‘eluded his minders’?
Who pays for minders for a schizo? Shouldn’t he just be tethered to a post 24/7
